HOW DO YOU PLAY THE ROLE OF A MAINSPRING IN OUR CLIENTS’ LIVES?
I play the role of advocate in the lives of my clients and their families by helping them articulate and express their financial and personal goals. By crafting an individualized financial plan, we help them pursue those goals. By having a plan, we can help them reduce the confusion we all have and continually hear about in the news, and be ready to act on opportunities that come knocking.
WHAT DRIVES YOU?
My family, and my father in particular, provided a great front-row view of what it was like to plan strategically, work for the future and see it all come together. Shortly before my dad died he said, “I think I have done pretty good, don’t you?” and the resounding answer was “yes!” Striving to provide that same confidence and independence for my clients is what drives me.
HOW DO YOU SPEND TIME OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Coming home to my wife, Gretchen, and our two kids is always nice. We enjoy going on adventures that might be as simple as a nature walk on some of the local trails, checking out the latest movie, or a family vacation. We love traveling and go on an annual ski vacation, and have been lucky enough to visit Europe several times. When we are staying around home, I like dreaming about becoming a better golfer and being able to keep up with Jeremy, one of my partners at Mainspring.
