June 7th, 2024 was a day for gratitude, community, and giving back. Every year we close our offices for a day in June and dedicate our time to volunteering in the community for Mainspring Cares Day, our all-firm volunteer program. This year we are proud to have given our time to support several organizations throughout our local communities.
Our Bend team spent the day promoting KID Center’s upcoming fundraiser – The Cork and Barrel. By canvasing different areas of Bend, they were able to visit over 100 different local businesses. Amber, Kristin, and Megan each walked about 4 miles, and all had meaningful interactions with the community about both KIDS Center and Mainspring. KIDS Center is dedicated to the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of child abuse in Central Oregon.
Our Seattle office volunteered their time at Family Works in the Wallingford neighborhood. Together they packed about 80 grocery bags of food that was delivered directly to members of the local community later that afternoon. Family Works has worked in partnership with families in North Seattle to alleviate food insecurity for nearly 30 years.
The team in Bellevue donated their time to the Seattle Humane Society. Our team cleared Seattle Humane’s dog walking trails and parking lot to ensure safe walks for the dogs in their care. The team ended their visit by learning about the resources Seattle Humane offers to pet parent’s and animals in need. Seattle Humane has provided adoption services, low-cost veterinary services, a pet food bank, and more since 1897.
The Tukwila office spent another Mainspring Cares Day at the Tukwila Pantry Food Bank. Together they sorted clothing and home goods for the refugees the food bank serves throughout the Tukwila/Burien area. With donations from the surrounding community, the Tukwila Pantry Food Bank can provide much needed aid to refugees in the local community.
Our Langley team helped with South Whidbey’s PRIDE Parade event. The team from the Langley office and visiting Mainspring team members set up tents, tables, chairs, and decorated the main stage and surrounding parade area. The parade was successful with 450 people marching and about 1,000 parade attendees.
All these organizations provide much needed support, aid, and supplies to our community. We are proud to take part in their missions and support their causes.
Thank you to each of these organizations for the important work you do and for allowing us to spend the day with you!
