HOW DO YOU PLAY THE ROLE OF A MAINSPRING IN OUR CLIENTS’ LIVES?

As a financial planner, I help clients take control of their financial lives through building a financial plan that aligns with their life goals and purpose. Working with clients holistically to look at both the big picture and the details allows clients to have the peace of mind knowing they are being good stewards of their money. One thing that differentiates me is my experience in real estate investment analysis. In addition to reviewing real estate investments in terms of portfolio allocation, I have a personal passion for real estate investing having personally been involved in over two dozen real estate transactions as an investor. My professional background as a Certified Public Accountant, attorney and Certified Financial Planner professional helps provide a deeper appreciation of the complexity of a client’s financial framework. Tax planning is critical in this framework, as it is not what you earn, but what you keep and utilize wisely, that matters. Financial planning is analogous to solving a puzzle. The question to be answered is, “How do you balance your resources and your desires to live a full life?” The key is really listening to clients and, together, devising a game plan they can live with that honors what they are seeking – being on track for a secure retirement, buying a second home, taking care of parents, planning a career change, or any other goals that make life meaningful and rich. My mission is to empower clients to realize their best self and live a life fulfilled through a trusted advisory relationship. Guiding clients to help make decisions that improve their financial well-being and seeing the positive result is satisfying and rewarding.

WHAT DRIVES YOU?

Partnering with clients to guide them in making sound financial decisions has been my life’s work. Delving into the art and a science of financial planning between the analytical, psychological, and interpersonal aspects is fun. The most rewarding part is seeing clients grow both financially and as people and enjoying the benefits money can bring such as a satisfying retirement, launching children to self-sufficiency, or pursuing philanthropy.

HOW DO YOU SPEND TIME OUTSIDE OF WORK?

I am a firm believer in giving back professionally and personally. In addition to serving as co-chair of the Raymond James Pride Financial Advisor Network and on the Council for FPA Pride Planners, I have served on the Raymond James Women’s Advisory Council from 2016-2019, was past president of the Financial Planning Association of Georgia, have served on the Financial Planning Association’s OneFPA Advisory Board, was a board member of the American Women’s Society of CPAs Georgia Chapter, and have taught tax planning and financial planning as an adjunct instructor in the Certified Financial Planner program at Oglethorpe University. Personally, I enjoy volunteer work and doing humanitarian missions internationally that have taken me to Myanmar, India and Colombia.

I split my time between the PNW and Atlanta. When I am not working with clients or the professional community, I enjoy cooking, hiking, yoga, reading, traveling, exploring new labyrinths to walk, visiting my favorite place in the world, Vancouver, B.C, and spending time with my partner, Carrie, two sons, Matthew and Richard and parents who live with us.
